wild_hare

This is a cartoon for a trackday organizer I use called Keiwins@thetrack. For years their logo was an abstract rabbit on a bike from a shop Lance and Linda Keiwin opened called "Wild Hare Racing". Fun project. Pencil to black line art to Photoshop.

lamborghini murcielago_WIP

There's nothing quite like modeling a car. You gain a whole new appreciation for all the designer's effort in getting the shapes to flow together. I'm a big fan of Lamborghini's designs, so I gave the Murcielago a go.

Maya polygonal model with mental ray rendering. No textures yet. Maybe one day...

fiships

Got Ryan Church's DVD on Shiny Vehicles. These turned out kinda shiny. Ish. But the DVD's were informative and it's good to see somebody else jam. I'm still waiting on Painter. Looks to be a lot easier to make aggressive, sketchy strokes which should hopefully give me a little more insight on my reflections as I go. We'll see.

Froze a frame in Hostel and painted it at 150 x 150. Up to 300 x 300.

mask_01

I just opened Photoshop and went for this one. Looking forward to Painter. May be getting it on the machine soon. Like the "page spinning" you can do with it.

motuary droid

I'd imagined two of these fellas carrying caskets. Grunts in a low-end morgue. Getting into painting in Photoshop with this one.

swamp sled

Kudzu, water, and a big supercharger. Not your typical Sunday drive but it'd do. Shoulda pushed the overhang of the intake more for a "canopy". I think there was a GI Joe character that had a swamp sled. I know Suzuki made a tri-pontoon version. Prismacolor markers and pencil. Little gouache.

post-it

It seems appropriate to start a blog with a Post-It. Nathan Reidt showed me a new pen he'd been using. A .028 Hi-Tec-C from Pilot. Great for this scale. And a little Prismacolor marker never hurts.
